About the position

The Operations Manager at Plant Life will oversee all aspects of production and distribution within the commissary, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with food safety regulations. This role requires a self-driven individual with an entrepreneurial mindset to manage expenses, streamline production processes, and lead a team effectively.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all operations of the commissary
• Manage all expenses to increase profitability
• Manage all ordering and inventory for the facility
• Streamline current production processes and increase capacity to grow top-line revenue through new product launches
• Hire, train, and develop all team members, including managing performance goals
• Review the revenue, COGS, and production processes of existing production items to determine whether to scale or retire products
• Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and industry standards, including HACCP and GMP
• Follow Serv-Safe sanitary compliance throughout the facility
• Preventative maintenance of equipment and machinery in production facilities
• Learn and manage all software platforms that pertain to daily operations, such as XtraCHEF, Toast, and ADP
• Set weekly meetings with the leadership team to review financial performance, operational improvements, and forecasting goals.

Requirements

• 5+ years of business operations experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent leadership skills
• Excellent critical thinking
• Must be organized and prepared
• Culinary experience
• ServSafe certification
• Experience in budgeting and forecasting

Nice-to-haves

• College degree in culinary or related field
• Previous ownership experience in food production or hospitality
