About the position

The Operations Manager will lead the manufacturing team in a hands-on capacity, overseeing production, quality, engineering, and safety within the plant. This role involves managing production schedules, quality control, employee training, and serving as a project leader for internal initiatives. The Operations Manager will also assist with budgeting, vendor relations, and product development to ensure efficient production processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the manufacturing team by directing production, quality, engineering, and safety in the plant.
• Manage production and maintenance schedules, document control, and quality control/inspection.
• Oversee production metrics and process improvement plans.
• Conduct employee training and development.
• Serve as a project leader for internal projects as assigned.
• Assist with annual budget and forecasting.
• Work with vendors on raw material orders.
• Assist the sales team by reviewing contracts and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure efficient production of new products and assist the Engineering team with design reviews.

Requirements

• 7-10+ years of experience in a supervisory or managerial position within a manufacturing environment.
• A minimum of 5 years of CNC Machining (lathe or milling) experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field is strongly preferred, but experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Strong hands-on leadership mentality and approach.
• Strong quality control experience and mindset.
• Ability to read and interpret routine to complex blueprints and shop drawings.
• Proven experience motivating and leading a team.
