About the position

The Operations Manager at Waste Connections is responsible for overseeing solid waste collection operations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and managing work crews. This role emphasizes servant leadership and aims to create a positive work culture where employees are empowered to make decisions and contribute to the company's success.

Responsibilities

• Assign and supervise work crews operating solid waste collection equipment.
• Monitor progress of daily operations and make staffing changes as necessary.
• Help develop and execute safety goals.
• Conduct field inspections and audits of all site personnel to ensure proper work procedures.
• Receive and review customer complaints regarding collection programs.
• Perform reviews and conduct performance management discussions.
• Formulate both short-term and long-term goals and action plans for the Hauling Company.
• Oversee a variety of complex compliance programs, including environmental, OSHA, and local permitting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Ability to relocate for promotional opportunities based on performance
• Have or ability to obtain a CDL
