About the position

The Operations Manager at Multi-Color Corporation is responsible for overseeing overall site production operations, ensuring a work environment that promotes safety, quality, delivery, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves developing teams to achieve corporate improvement objectives and managing all aspects of plant production performance in a cost-effective manner. The Operations Manager drives best practices and leads process improvements within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates activities to assure safety, quality, delivery, and cost meet specified targets.
  • Implements behavior-based safety initiatives and continuously improves safety performance.
  • Executes quality control plans for compliance to standards and drives variation reduction.
  • Assesses on-time delivery performance and develops actions to improve it.
  • Manages costs effectively by overseeing labor, overtime, and expenditures.
  • Determines weekly staffing requirements and reallocates resources as needed.
  • Reviews production reports to identify root causes of budget variances and develops corrective actions.
  • Utilizes Lean principles to form teams for productivity improvement and waste reduction.
  • Promotes and participates in kaizen activities to sustain results.
  • Facilitates daily Gemba walks and ensures proper utilization of SQDC boards and War Room tools.
  • Coordinates with HR to ensure appropriate staffing levels and adherence to HR policies.
  • Coaches and mentors team members for ongoing development.
  • Stays updated on new trends and methods to enhance production efficiency.
  • Researches and recommends capital equipment purchases.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Business, or equivalent.
  • 10 years of staff-level leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in Operations and/or Lean Management.
  • Experience in the printing industry is preferred.
  • Experience as a change agent in complex transformational activities.
  • Significant experience in implementing Lean principles in manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to apply structured problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes and provide solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
