About the position

The Operations Manager at Cleaver-Brooks is responsible for overseeing the management, direction, and coordination of manufacturing and maintenance operations. This strategic role aims to meet divisional production objectives while ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness. The Operations Manager will provide manufacturing vision, delegate authority to key personnel, and manage a plant with a production volume in the $80-100 million range.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall manufacturing and maintenance operations.
• Ensure divisional production objectives are met at the lowest cost while maintaining quality.
• Provide strategic manufacturing vision and delegate authority to key managers and supervisors.
• Coordinate manufacturing schedules based on sales requirements and plant capacity.
• Review recommendations for special machinery and collaborate on product and process development.
• Control production costs through effective management of subordinates.
• Oversee maintenance of buildings, equipment, and plant security.
• Participate in long-range plant expansion and equipment planning.
• Conduct annual performance reviews and approve personnel recommendations.
• Represent the company in community activities and handle customer complaints.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 7-10 years of experience as a production supervisor or manager in a durable goods manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a union environment is prioritized.
• Strong knowledge of product and manufacturing processes.
• Continuous improvement and lean manufacturing mindset.
