Operations Manager

About the position

The Operations Manager at Drax is responsible for overseeing the operations personnel and manufacturing processes of biomass, ensuring the safe production of quality renewable energy. This role involves creating a safety-first culture, managing operational goals, and leading personnel to achieve facility objectives.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety audits and provide feedback to supervisors and area managers.
• Create and enforce a 'Safety First' culture within the team.
• Audit safety documentation including JSA's, POWRA's, and LOTO.
• Set quarterly goals for direct reports focusing on safety, housekeeping, and environmental compliance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures through coaching and disciplinary actions.
• Manage the operations and manufacturing process to meet facility goals.
• Provide leadership and support to Area Managers for maintenance and problem-solving.
• Implement housekeeping standards to minimize hazards and injuries.
• Oversee hiring, training, and performance management of operations personnel.
• Develop training manuals and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

• B.S. Degree preferred; 10+ years of operations or related experience with previous management experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of specific production processes is a plus.
