About the position

The Operations Manager at Saint-Gobain is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, supply chain, and operations projects to ensure efficient and profitable manufacturing operations. This role involves preparing and controlling departmental budgets, leading safety and quality initiatives, and driving continuous improvement efforts. The Operations Manager will mentor and coach personnel, coordinate activities across departments, and ensure compliance with company policies and standards while enhancing customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee production, supply chain, and operations projects to ensure efficiency and profitability.
  • Prepare and control departmental budgets and lead safety, quality, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Develop, recommend, implement, and achieve operational plans, goals, budgets, and capital requirements.
  • Mentor and coach personnel, providing direct supervision and coordinating activities to achieve site objectives.
  • Lead Project Management and Continuous Improvement teams to implement cost improvements and state-of-the-art processes.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of high-quality products while maximizing capacity and minimizing costs.
  • Interface with stakeholders and internal/external customers to meet needs and priorities.
  • Conduct performance management and team member development, including performance evaluations.
  • Monitor output, productivity, waste, downtime, and business process effectiveness.
  • Audit areas to ensure compliance with safety, cleanliness, and process methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Management.
  • 6+ years' experience in a management role in a manufacturing environment.
  • 10+ years progressive experience in a manufacturing and operational environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing teams and individual employees.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and proficiency in computer and spreadsheet software.
  • Knowledge of materials and inventory control practices, production scheduling, and ISO environments.
  • Ability to manage performance, leadership skills, initiative, and strong organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or MS in Engineering Discipline.
  • Six Sigma Certification or WCM Green Belt Certification.
