About the position

The Operations Manager at SRS Distribution Inc. will oversee the daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient management of drivers and warehouse staff while providing excellent customer service both over the phone and in-person. This role is crucial for maintaining safety compliance, inventory control, and timely delivery of building materials to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Supervise drivers, dispatcher, and warehouse operations, including guiding, assigning, and training personnel.
• Dispatch or oversee the dispatching of trucks for timely and accurate delivery of products to job sites.
• Oversee daily warehouse operations to ensure timely and accurate order pulling, loading, and unloading for vendors or customers.
• Assist warehouse personnel in loading and unloading trucks using a forklift.
• Manage all phases of inventory control, including purchasing, weekly cycle counts, pricing, and review of damaged stock.
• Conduct safety audits and meetings to ensure branch compliance with safety standards.
• Oversee maintenance and operation of tractors, trailers, and forklifts.
• Track and administer hours worked for drivers and warehouse staff.

Requirements

• Experience in warehouse operations, distribution center, shipping and receiving, or similar environments.
• Ability to drive a forklift (certification assistance available).
• Familiarity with the local area for safe and effective routing.
• Basic math skills for inventory counts and English communication skills for reading purchase orders and team communication.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. repeatedly each day.
• Reliability, safety consciousness, and teamwork.
• Possession of a Class A or B license with at least one year of verifiable driving experience is a plus.
• Experience in the roofing industry is a plus.
• High School diploma or GED; college courses are a plus.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and reliable transportation.
• Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Ability to pass a criminal and driving background check and a pre-employment drug test.
