About the position

The Operations Manager at Michaels is responsible for leading operational processes to enhance sales and profits while ensuring asset protection. This role involves managing inventory, merchandising, and delivering exceptional customer service through a well-trained team. The Operations Manager supports the Store Manager in executing store workload and compliance with company standards, while also participating in various operational tasks such as inventory management and shrink programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational processes to deliver sales and profits while protecting assets.
  • Provide a well merchandised and well in-stock store by leading and supporting inventory management processes.
  • Lead a team of well-trained team members to deliver a customer-centric shopping experience.
  • Assist Store Manager in planning and supporting the scheduling and execution of store workload.
  • Manage adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
  • Support and participate in the truck unload and stocking processes to ensure truck standards are followed and completed within budget.
  • Achieve KPI's and manage the team to achieve their role KPI's.
  • Manage visual merchandising standards in store and execution of feature space and seasonal layouts.
  • Manage and execute inventory management processes in store.
  • Manage and execute merchandise operations and Omni channel processes.
  • Manage and execute shrink and safety programs.
  • Train, observe, and coach the team to achieve results; participate in the performance management process of your team.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) and acknowledge customers, helping locate products and providing solutions.
