About the position

The Operations Manager at Eden Foods is responsible for overseeing multiple facilities and production lines, focusing on continuous improvement in safety, quality, and staff development. This role involves managing operations teams, maintaining documentation, hiring and training personnel, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. The Operations Manager will also interface with other departments to achieve operational excellence and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage multiple systems, projects, and their development with onsite and remote Operations teams.
  • Maintain and create documentation for processes and practices.
  • Hire, train, and develop personnel.
  • Delegate authority toward the best use of Company assets.
  • Schedule staff time and equipment use for material handling, storage, logistics, manufacturing, and safety compliance.
  • Oversee efforts toward efficient teamwork and productivity in Operations activities.
  • Interface with other Eden Departments to achieve required outcomes and efficiency.
  • Refine processes, procedures, systems, and policies in line with Eden Foods mission.
  • Instill a continuous improvement ethos in Operations personnel and systems.
  • Anticipate and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain up-to-date record keeping and data assemblies for legal and practical necessities.
  • Improve relationships with outside companies for the Company.
  • Routine updates to the Company President on operational issues.
  • Investigate and introduce process improvement measures and present recommendations to management.
  • Plan and execute enhancements in safety, efficiency, and productivity throughout operations.
  • Develop, direct, and synchronize management of warehouse, transportation, and food production operations.
  • Ensure compliance with Company SOPs and federal/state regulations.
  • Facilitate communication within the management team.
  • Maintain effective equipment maintenance programs.
  • Capture metrics data showing productivity and quality results according to Operations standards.
  • Determine personnel and equipment requirements for production work and anticipated volume.
  • Monitor OSHA and DOT standards for safety in operations.
  • Maintain security procedures and policies in Operations.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient weekly cycle-counts and quarterly inventories.
  • Investigate redlines to keep perpetual inventory system accurate.
  • Oversee and manage budgets.
  • Participate in staff relationship management with vendors.

Requirements

  • Experience in operations management within the food industry (5 years preferred).
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of organic agriculture and food handling is a plus.
  • Teamwork orientation.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Operational skills with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks professionally.
