About the position

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily activities within the organization's operations function, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. This role involves managing production, safety, maintenance, quality, staffing, and employee relations, while also identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency. The Operations Manager develops and implements strategies to help the business meet its critical goals and objectives efficiently, approves resource allocation based on business priorities, and evaluates changes to policies or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist the Plant Manager in training and directing staff to manage plant operations safely and efficiently.
• Achieve company business and plant objectives in production, safety, quality, and logistics.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and secure work environment.
• Coordinate with production planning, customer service, and logistics to establish production goals and ensure customer needs are met.
• Provide engineering support to plant production operations, including process and controls systems, preventive maintenance, and maintenance inventory.
• Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production, quality, and safety standards.
• Provide leadership and training to accomplish company and plant goals and objectives.
• Evaluate, develop, and train staff for maximum efficiency and employee satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• At least 6 years of experience in a related field.
• Five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of field concepts and principles.
• Ability to train, direct, and motivate people in production operations focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Experience with controls, pumps, valves, flow meters, and filtration.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual in Spanish is desired.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint).
