The Operations Manager at The Trusted Handyman LLC is a versatile role that combines fieldwork and office management. This position is responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing projects, and ensuring excellent client communication. The role begins with a 3-day trial period in the field to build rapport with the team and assess fit, followed by responsibilities that include project supervision, team collaboration, and operational management.

Responsibilities

  • Spend the first 3 days working in the field alongside the team to understand the work and processes.
  • Lead by example as a skilled handyman and foreman, overseeing projects and ensuring quality.
  • Manage on-site projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Build strong relationships with the crew and assist in training team members as needed.
  • Address on-site challenges and make adjustments to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Prepare accurate job bids and estimates based on field knowledge and data analysis.
  • Act as the point of contact for clients, providing updates and handling concerns.
  • Manage project schedules, coordinating workers, tools, and materials for efficient workflow.
  • Monitor supplies and equipment, coordinating procurement to avoid delays.
  • Use project management software to track job progress, costs, and generate reports.
  • Assist in creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to optimize efficiency.
  • Oversee project inspections to ensure high standards of work.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training new hires.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction, handyman services, or a related field.
  • Experience as a foreman or team leader in construction or renovation projects.
  • Familiarity with managing day-to-day operations in a service-based business.
  • Proficient in carpentry, drywall, plumbing, and other handyman services.
  • Experience with project management tools, QuickBooks, and estimating software.
  • Strong ability to communicate with clients, workers, and management.
  • Quick thinker, capable of adapting to challenges in the field and operations.
  • Willingness to engage in fieldwork and office tasks equally.
