About the position

Operations Managers at the Whitewater Center (Whitewater) are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of multiple business units. This role is essential in ensuring that all operational aspects run smoothly and efficiently. As an on-site, full-time position, the Operations Manager will report directly to the Director of Operations. The role requires a proactive approach to leadership, as the manager will lead, motivate, and support a large team in a high-volume and demanding environment. The Operations Manager will also be instrumental in developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance and safety protocols to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for both staff and guests. In addition to managing daily operations, the Operations Manager will leverage business metrics and trends to drive performance and maximize profit and revenue. This includes utilizing key tools and metrics to measure team results and holding the team accountable to established goals and objectives. The Operations Manager will play a key role in the planning and execution of existing and new programming, ensuring that all initiatives align with the overall mission and goals of the Whitewater Center. Furthermore, the manager will be accountable for the profit and loss (P&L) of various business units, making strategic decisions to enhance financial performance. The position also requires flexibility, as the Operations Manager may need to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during special Whitewater events as needed. This role is critical in maintaining the high standards of service and operational excellence that the Whitewater Center is known for.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and support a large team within a high volume and a demanding environment.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance and safety protocols.
  • Leverage business metrics and trends to drive performance and maximize profit and revenue.
  • Utilize key tools and metrics to measure team results and hold the team accountable to established goals and objectives.
  • Be a key leader in the planning and execution of existing and new programming.
  • Accountable for P&L of various business units.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Business, Hospitality, Outdoor Recreation or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in management and/or leadership.
  • Experience managing P&L.
  • Ability to think critically and be proactive.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays and during Whitewater events as needed.
