About the position

As an Operations Planning Analyst at Corning, you will play a crucial role in supporting the tactical and long-term capacity planning processes. Your primary responsibilities will include developing analyses for special melt requests and collecting assumptions for various supply scenarios, ensuring that these tasks are completed according to the standard schedule. You will also be responsible for creating ad-hoc customer supply and capacity plans to support customer forecasts, which may involve incorporating internal and external projects and evaluating the impact of development line time requests. In addition to these tasks, you will support the introduction of new customer products into the established planning tool, which includes developing the planning process flow and implementing any necessary tool enhancements. You will be tasked with annually developing the current year's supply gap analysis tool and leading the planning interface on customer sample requests. This involves modeling, planning, and tracking the operational execution of key customer sample and development deliverables. Your role will also encompass managing Gorilla Glass inventory, which includes establishing and maintaining operating inventory targets, improving ongoing inventory visibility and tracking, and publishing monthly updates. You will need to highlight at-risk inventory trends and develop an improvement portfolio in collaboration with the Commercial team. As the planning project lead on business inventory projects and committees, you will ensure the data integrity of the inventory dashboard and develop expertise in executing supply and capacity plans using the Division's planning tool, Arkieva. You will also participate in manufacturing assumptions collection forums and develop knowledge of key assumptions documents to assist in tactical and supply planning. Supporting Gorilla and planning process improvement projects will be part of your responsibilities, along with completing various data analysis projects as required.

Responsibilities

  • Support 20-week tactical and 18-month capacity plans by developing analysis for special melt requests and collecting assumptions for supply scenarios.
  • Complete ad-hoc customer supply and capacity plans as needed to support customer forecasts, incorporating internal/external projects and evaluating impact of development line time requests.
  • Support the introduction of new customer products into established planning tool, including development of planning process flow and any tool enhancements required.
  • Annually develop current year's supply gap analysis tool.
  • Lead Planning interface on customer sample requests, modeling, planning, and tracking operational execution of key customer sample and development deliverables.
  • Lead Gorilla Glass inventory management, establishing and maintaining operating inventory targets, improving ongoing inventory visibility and tracking, and publishing monthly updates.
  • Highlight at-risk inventory, trends, and develop improvement portfolio working with Commercial.
  • Serve as back-up as required for long-range planning team.
  • Develop and drive execution of Arkieva enhancement portfolio, including long-range planner (LRP) module.
  • Participate in manufacturing assumptions collection forums from Melting Plants, Engineering & Ceramic team; understand and develop knowledge of key assumptions documents and tables to assist in tactical and supply planning.
  • Support Gorilla and planning process improvement projects as required.
  • Complete data analysis projects as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Business, Technical, or Supply Chain.
  • 4+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Production Planning, Procurement, and/or Logistics (preferred).
  • Experience working at a multinational corporation (MNC) or global consumer electronics company is greatly preferred.
  • Global work experience or working across regions and cultures is preferred.
