About The Position

The Operations Planning Coordinator at Hill's Pet Nutrition is a pivotal role responsible for executing effective finished goods production scheduling and replenishment of finished goods, raw, and packaging materials to meet forecasted demand and distribution. This position is integral to ensuring that safety and quality standards are met or exceeded while managing the complexities of production planning in a fast-paced environment. The coordinator will work closely with the Inventory, Planning, and Deployment (IPD) team to support both domestic and international demand, ensuring that all materials shipped and received comply with corporate and government standards for quality and traceability. In this role, the Operations Planning Coordinator will execute master production plans developed by the IPD Group by setting daily and weekly production schedules. They will keep operations informed of schedules and make necessary adjustments. Utilizing SAP data and systems, the coordinator will manage production plans, schedule requirements, inventory management, and adherence to schedules. They will verify the accuracy of daily transactions in SAP and production reporting systems, perform monthly and quarterly inventories, and make arrangements to maintain inventory levels while addressing logistical issues. The coordinator will also support productivity initiatives by monitoring processes to deliver against key performance goals, including production, inventory, scrap, cost, plant service level, cycle time interval, and schedule attainment. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain best practices for factory performance and reliability. The Operations Planning Coordinator will coordinate with raw and packaging material suppliers, quality assurance, and corporate procurement to improve quality, reliability, cost, and safety. This position is essential for ensuring that the production planning and materials team adheres to operating budgets for variable and fixed overheads, and it may involve other job functions as assigned by management.
