About the position

The Operations Planning Coordinator at Colgate-Palmolive will play a crucial role in executing effective finished goods production scheduling and replenishment of finished goods, raw, and packaging materials to meet forecasted demand and distribution. This position is integral to ensuring that production plans align with the company's operational goals and customer service standards. The coordinator will be responsible for meeting or exceeding safety and quality standards while executing master production plans developed by the Inventory, Planning, and Deployment (IPD) Group. This involves setting daily and weekly production schedules, keeping operations informed of any schedule adjustments, and utilizing SAP data and systems for production planning, inventory management, and schedule adherence. In addition to scheduling, the Operations Planning Coordinator will verify the accuracy of daily transactions in SAP and production reporting systems, perform monthly and quarterly inventories, and manage inventory levels while addressing logistical challenges. The role requires collaboration with the Planning Manager to balance customer service, productivity, and cost results, as well as updating standard operating procedures (SOP) and working with the controller on product ingredient costing changes. The coordinator will also ensure compliance with corporate and government standards for quality and traceability in all materials shipped and received. This position requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting production scheduling problems and inventory variances, as well as supporting productivity initiatives by monitoring processes against key performance goals. The Operations Planning Coordinator will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement best practices for factory performance and reliability, ensuring that all materials are managed effectively to support both domestic and international demand.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed safety and quality standards.
  • Execute master production plans developed by IPD Group by setting daily and weekly production schedules; keep Operations informed of schedules, and schedule adjustments as necessary.
  • Use SAP data/system to set production plans, schedule requirements, inventory management, and schedule adherence.
  • Verify accuracy of daily transactions in SAP, production reporting systems, and yield reporting; perform monthly and quarterly inventories — physical and system.
  • Make arrangements to maintain inventory levels while facing logistical issues; recommend contingency plans to Planning Manager to address business interruption; facilitate troubleshooting of production scheduling problems, inventory variances, and yield variances in a timely manner.
  • Support productivity initiatives by monitoring processes to deliver against key performance goals including Production, Inventory, Scrap, Cost, Plant Service Level, Cycle Time Interval and Schedule Attainment.
  • Work closely with the Planning Manager to deliver customer service, productivity, and cost results and balance priorities.
  • Update SOP, SAP material master, and work with the controller on costing of product ingredient changes.
  • Ensure raw and packaging material inventory processes and controls to effectively manage receiving, inventory, SLOB, and working capital.
  • Coordinate with Inventory, Planning & Deployment (IPD) team to support Hill's domestic and international demand.
  • Adhere to operating budgets for variable and fixed overheads for the production planning and materials team.
  • Ensure that all materials shipped and received are in compliance with corporate and government standards for quality, traceability, and bio-terrorism.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in production or planning, or purchasing/customer service and logistics.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to travel domestically up to 10% is required (initial travel required during training period at domestic manufacturing plants, travel will decrease after 3 to 6 months).
  • Experience in finished goods production planning and replenishment of finished goods, raw & packaging materials to meet forecasted demand and distribution.
  • Food manufacturing experience.

Benefits

  • Salary Range $62,000.00 - $72,000.00 USD
