The Senior Leader Subject Matter Expert (SME) will provide comprehensive support across the entire command structure. All SMEs will be centrally managed but may be assigned to work in separate directorates based on their individual skill sets or knowledge bases. These experts are expected to communicate effectively at the highest command levels, both internally and externally, while taking guidance from the Commander, Deputy Commander, Executive Director (EXDIR), and Joint Director (JDIR) leadership. The SMEs should be capable of performing at a principal level of support for various functions, acting as thought leaders within the command. They must work independently with minimal or no guidance, demonstrating a high level of expertise in their respective fields. The responsibilities of the Senior Leader SME include providing expert strategic and technical communication, supporting identified areas at a principal level, and being familiar with commercial industry and government-developed cybersecurity technologies that enable a layered defensive strategy across large enterprise networked environments. The SME will also provide subject matter expertise in Cyber, Technology, Strategic, and Military Operations, collaborating with Senior Leadership to plan, develop, and implement the Commander's highest priorities and future concepts. Additionally, they will integrate and influence cross-functional concepts that align with the command's high-interest plans, develop technical papers, white papers, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), system and operational view diagrams, system architecture, network diagrams, and network architectures. Participation in cyber panels, meetings, and working groups as a subject matter expert and advisor is also expected, along with coordination with all applicable staff elements, Service Cyber Components, Combatant Command (CCMD), and other partners/agencies with cyber-related missions.
