About the position

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Air Tasking Order (ATO) Production Manager within the Air Operations Center response cell. This role involves planning, scenario development, and execution of operational level warfare command and control exercises and experiments. The ATO Production Manager will support Major Command (MAJCOM) level programs and exercises aimed at training the Joint Force Air Component Commander (JFACC) and Commander Air Force Forces (COMAFFOR) staffs. The position requires a deep understanding of military aviation operations and the ability to apply analytical and evaluative methods to enhance program operations. The incumbent will be responsible for designing and conducting constructive exercises, preparing solutions to resolve substantive problems, and ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of training and education during exercise execution. In addition to the core responsibilities, the ATO Production Manager will be expected to maintain a high level of communication with various command entities involved in the planning and execution of military operations. This includes conveying advanced concepts and implementing technical procedures in support of operational level command and control (C2) exercises. The role may also require the employee to work outside of normal duty hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and to travel by commercial or military aircraft for temporary duty assignments. The position is subject to drug testing and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
  • At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge of military aviation operations and command entities involved in operations planning.
  • Skill in designing and conducting constructive exercises and evaluating training programs.
  • Experience with Air Force Command and Control System - Theater Battle Management Core System (TBMCS).
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
