About the position
The Operations Planning Specialist position within the Department of the Air Force is primarily responsible for planning, scenario development, and execution of tactical and operational level warfare command and control exercises and tests. This role involves applying military operations experience to analyze, develop, coordinate, and evaluate issues, ensuring effective training and operational readiness for military operations.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, develop, coordinate, and evaluate military operations issues.
- Plan and execute tactical and operational level command and control exercises.
- Monitor and maintain support networks and associated equipment for M&S capabilities.
- Document planning and programming decisions to meet Air Force training requirements.
- Maintain professional and technical expertise in military operations.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level.
- Comprehensive knowledge of military operations and command and control training responsibilities.
- Knowledge of instructional concepts and curriculum development for military training programs.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with military operations and personnel readiness in support of major military operations.
- Knowledge of Air Force and command program goals and objectives.
