About the position

The Operations Product Development Manager at Apple plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between product development and operational efficiency. This position requires a deep understanding of consumer electronics, supply chains, and manufacturing cost structures, along with strong interpersonal skills to influence cross-functional teams and management. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a creative problem-solving mindset, capable of managing multiple projects while balancing detailed analysis with strategic oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Understand key mobile technologies from a cost, supply chain, and technical perspective.
  • Identify cost trade-offs that stretch design limits and challenge accepted supply chain and design rules.
  • Present tradeoff recommendations to cross-functional and executive teams.
  • Serve as a 'one stop shop' to advise development teams on operational, cost, and supply chain issues.
  • Influence the product roadmap from a business perspective as the advocate for operations teams.
  • Drive Procurement and Operations teams to prepare for upcoming product roadmaps and address gaps.
  • Manage product cost based on corporate margin targets.
  • Assist Procurement managers in deriving accurate should-costs and set individual cost targets for components/modules.
  • Identify cost opportunities within the design envelope and work towards cross-functional implementation.
  • Develop the Supplier Plan of Record (SPOR) for new products and facilitate discussions among key teams.
  • Focus on strategic supplier selection and present SPOR for executive approval.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.

Nice-to-haves
