As an Operations Product Development Manager at Apple, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our products and services. This position requires a blend of strong interpersonal skills and technical expertise, particularly in consumer electronics components, supply chains, and manufacturing cost structures. You will be expected to engage early in the product development process, understanding key mobile technologies such as Multitouch, LCD, Wireless Si, Flex circuits, and Mechanical enclosures from a cost, supply chain, and technical perspective. Your ability to identify cost trade-offs and challenge conventional supply chain and design rules will be essential in influencing product roadmaps and advocating for operational teams. In this role, you will manage product costs based on corporate margin targets, assisting Procurement managers in deriving accurate should-costs and setting individual cost targets for components and modules. You will also be responsible for optimizing capital equipment budgets and identifying cost opportunities within the design envelope. Your strategic thinking will be vital in developing the Supplier Plan of Record (SPOR) for new products, facilitating discussions among Engineering, Operations, Procurement, and Quality teams, and focusing on strategic supplier selection. You will present the SPOR for approval by the executive team, ensuring that all aspects of supply chain management are addressed effectively. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and a creative problem solver who can navigate between minute details and the big picture while managing multiple projects with competing priorities. If you are passionate about product development and have a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics, we encourage you to apply and join our innovative team at Apple.
