The Operations Coordinator (Production) position in North Andover, MA, plays a crucial role in supporting production control and ensuring the efficient flow of materials as per production schedules. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of the production process and involves close coordination with various stakeholders to address any issues that may arise during production. The Operations Coordinator will report directly to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for monitoring inventory levels of parts, components, and raw materials. This includes coordinating ordering, invoicing, and scheduling with vendors to ensure that production schedules are met without delays. The coordinator will also track the status of customer orders and production schedules, identifying any potential issues or delays and working with relevant stakeholders to expedite orders and resolve problems. Inputting and maintaining production data in ERP, MRP, or other databases is a key function of this role, ensuring that all data is accurate and up-to-date. In addition to inventory management, the Operations Coordinator will facilitate production planning and control by entering work orders into the ERP system and receiving materials. The role also involves purchasing production-related components, monitoring supplier performance, and supporting the Quality Management System (QMS) by adhering to system requirements. Safety is a priority, and the coordinator will help identify and eliminate any safety hazards in the workplace, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The position requires regular attendance and a commitment to maintaining good working relations with all employees, striving to minimize conflicts in the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates inventory management by conducting cycle counts and reconciling in ERP as necessary.
  • Supports production planning/control by entering work orders in ERP, MRP, or other databases, and receives materials into ERP system.
  • Assists the Operations Manager with maximizing the utilization of the plant.
  • Coordinates outbound shipments with the shipping department.
  • Maintains appropriate levels of raw materials and orders and tracks raw materials and returnable products, such as boxes and skids, and coordinates with customers on schedule of returns.
  • Purchases production-related components.
  • Monitors supplier performance, OTIF, etc.
  • Supports the QMS by adhering to the system requirements.
  • Understands and follows plant safety rules.
  • Helps to identify and eliminate any safety hazard or concern.
  • Assists in monitoring of quality of work output.
  • Maintains compliance with company policy and procedures.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly working area.
  • Responsible for reporting any problems or concerns to direct Supervisor.
  • Maintains good working relations with all other employees.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to five years in manufacturing clerical accounting capacity.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Epicor experience preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills with strong background working with Excel & Word.
  • Self-motivated to learn and perform job tasks to meet or exceed customer and company expectations.
  • Effectively communicates with others both verbally and in writing.
  • Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
