About the position

The Operations Program Manager at BAE Systems plays a crucial role in coordinating operations activities across various programs, ensuring that all operational functions align with program requirements. This position involves project management, supplier partnerships, and continuous improvement initiatives, all while supporting the sustainment of critical defense systems. The role is hybrid, requiring both onsite and remote work, and is designed to develop skills for higher levels of responsibility within operations and program management.

Responsibilities

  • Project management of continuous improvement programs
  • Cost Account Manager responsible for cost and schedule
  • Ensure all returns meet contractual requirements
  • Ensure all MICAPS are delivered to the customer in the expected time
  • Promote a strong sense of teamwork among personnel supporting various phases of the program efforts
  • Develop, execute, and monitor plans that support the Business Operating Plan
  • Ensure manufacturing execution is aligned with program and customer demand/requirements
  • Ensure material availability in support of repairs
  • Work with production team on any capability transitions to Sustainment
  • Work with factory supports to resolve issues that require Program and/or Customer action
  • Be the Operations Leader for Customer/Program requirements such as Repair Turn Around Time and EW Availability
  • Support factory compliance requirements
  • Support programs across several geographic locations with occasional travel to support programs
  • Identify and mitigate technical and schedule risks to program execution

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience or equivalent experience
  • Project management skills or manufacturing/supply chain skills
  • Basic skills in data analysis, leading small teams, effective communications, proposals, spreadsheet creation and management, and basic finance process comprehension

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP certification
  • Green Belt certification
  • Experience in management, supply chain management, and/or factory management
  • Analytical skills and the ability to work independently to develop Leadership presentations for the Operations and Program function
  • Previous Cost Account Management (CAM) and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) experience
  • Knowledge and/or experience with AS9145/APQP
