About the position
The Operations/Reliability Engineer at the City of Ocala Electric Utility is responsible for ensuring the reliability of the electric system and overseeing the design of high-level 69kV transmission and distribution systems. This role involves both recurring tasks and project-based duties that adapt to the utility's and customers' needs. The successful candidate may also supervise junior engineers and technicians, contributing to the development and execution of engineering projects.
Responsibilities
- Ensure electric system reliability through effective engineering practices.
- Design and oversee high-level 69kV transmission and distribution systems.
- Supervise junior electrical engineers and engineering technicians as needed.
- Adapt to project-based duties depending on utility and customer needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 11+ years of experience in electric distribution operations and reliability engineering.
