About the position

The Operations Research Analysis Supervisor at VTG plays a critical role in supporting the NAVSEA program for Ship Integrity and Performance Engineering. This position is based in Washington, DC, and operates in a hybrid capacity, allowing for a blend of in-office and remote work. The supervisor will oversee the collection and analysis of data to evaluate operational difficulties, providing insights and recommendations to address these challenges effectively. This role involves guiding modeling and evaluation processes to assess the effectiveness of current operational activities, identifying problem areas, and developing actionable solutions. In addition to technical oversight, the Operations Research Analysis Supervisor will act as an advisor to the operations research team, offering guidance on various projects, tasks, and operational strategies. The supervisor will also be responsible for managing subordinate staff, ensuring that they perform their duties effectively on a day-to-day basis. A key aspect of this role is to ensure that project and departmental milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved budgets, thereby contributing to the overall success of the program.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the collection and analysis of data to evaluate operational difficulties.
  • Make recommendations to solve operational problems based on data analysis.
  • Guide modeling and evaluation processes to determine the effectiveness of current operational activities.
  • Identify problem areas and develop solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Act as an advisor to the operations research team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
  • Manage subordinate staff in their day-to-day performance.
  • Ensure that project and department milestones/goals are met and adhere to approved budgets.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in operations research or a related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree in the field or a related area.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of additional relevant experience may satisfy degree requirements.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
