About the position

VTG is seeking an Operations Research Analysis Supervisor to support a NAVSEA program focused on Ship Integrity and Performance Engineering. This position is based in Washington, DC, and operates in a hybrid capacity, allowing for a combination of remote and on-site work. The successful candidate will play a critical role in overseeing the collection and analysis of data to evaluate operational difficulties and provide actionable recommendations to resolve these issues. The supervisor will guide modeling and evaluation processes to assess the effectiveness of current operational activities, identify problem areas, and develop effective solutions. In this role, the Operations Research Analysis Supervisor will act as an advisor to the operations research team, providing guidance on various projects, tasks, and operational strategies. The supervisor will also be responsible for managing subordinate staff, ensuring that they perform their duties effectively on a day-to-day basis. A key aspect of this position is to ensure that project and departmental milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved budgets. This role requires a strong background in operations research, data analysis, and team management, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the collection and analysis of data to evaluate operational difficulties and make recommendations to solve problems.
  • Guides modeling and evaluation processes to determine the effectiveness of current operational activities and to identify problem areas and develop solutions.
  • Acts as an advisor to the operations research team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
  • Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.
  • Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adheres to approved budgets.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in operations research or a related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree in the field or a related area.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of additional relevant experience may satisfy degree requirements.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
