About the position

ASRC Federal Technology Solutions is seeking a qualified Operations Research Analyst to join their team in El Paso, TX. This position requires a cleared candidate who will utilize various operations research methodologies to conduct studies of limited scope and collaborate with senior leadership on analyses. The selected candidate will engage in Global Force Management processes and other systems to generate assessments on operations, making this an exciting opportunity for those with a background in mathematical modeling and computer programming. In this role, the Operations Research Analyst will perform professional and scientific work that involves the design, development, and adaptation of mathematical, statistical, econometric, and other scientific methods. The goal is to provide insightful advice regarding the probable effects of alternative courses of action for key decision-making processes. The analyst will be responsible for applying a range of operations research methodologies to complete studies, modifying and adapting techniques to fit specific situations, some of which may require innovative approaches. Working under the guidance of senior leadership, the analyst will formulate, plan, and execute a variety of analyses, or work as a team member on specific problems within major studies. The role will also involve utilizing the Global Force Management process, Command and Control systems (C2), Common Operating Picture (COP) monitoring, and Common Intel Picture (CIP) monitoring, as well as other systems of record directed by JTF-N and higher headquarters to generate assessments on JTF-N operations to USNORTHCOM. Additionally, the analyst will complete projects that may involve modifications to existing applications software and the analysis of large, complex problems that require substantial problem analysis. The development of solutions will often involve creating mathematical models and computer programs to evaluate and predict the ability to support assigned projects, studies, or problems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform professional and scientific work requiring the design, development, and adaptation of mathematical, statistical, econometric, and other scientific methods and techniques.
  • Complete studies of limited scope or portions of larger projects using various operations research methodologies, modifying/adapting techniques as necessary.
  • Work under the guidance of senior leadership to formulate, plan, and complete a variety of analyses or collaborate as a team member on specific problems of major studies.
  • Utilize Global Force Management processes, Command and Control systems (C2), Common Operating Picture (COP) monitoring, and Common Intel Picture (CIP) monitoring to generate assessments on JTF-N operations to USNORTHCOM.
  • Complete projects involving modifications to existing applications software and the analysis of large, complex problems requiring substantial problem analysis and the development of solutions involving models.
  • Utilize scientific inquiry in the development of mathematical models and computer programs to evaluate and predict the ability to support assigned projects, studies, or problems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of work-related experience.
  • 1+ year specialized experience applying techniques to problem solve using big data mining, statistical analysis, or other quantitative methods.
  • Active DOD Secret clearance required.

Nice-to-haves

  • A Bachelor of Science from an accredited institution in mathematics, computer science, one of the physical sciences, engineering or a closely related scientific field is desired.
  • Advanced degree desired.
