About the position

The Operations Research Analyst I is responsible for data collection, analytics, and reporting that meet client requirements. This role involves working independently to compile information into reports, participate in meetings with project stakeholders, and support various operational reporting tasks for Federal Government clients.

Responsibilities

  • Compile information into reports to support regular daily and weekly meetings.
  • Update DOT data database, Incident Reports, Monthly Progress Reports, and Quarterly Program Reviews.
  • Participate in meetings with project stakeholders, completing read-aheads and presentations.
  • Manage knowledge of documents and artifacts related to projects.
  • Conduct quality control of project management documents and artifacts.
  • Formulate and apply mathematical or other modeling methods to assist management with decision making.
  • Identify problems and risks, engaging in problem resolution.
  • Support the preparation and evaluation of technical documents and analyses for Federal Government clients.
  • Prepare and execute detailed analyses of project and program management activities.
  • Support the development, tracking, and analysis of trends and data.
  • Analyze information from government agencies such as the DOT and local transportation agencies.
  • Provide daily and ad hoc reporting to Federal Government clients.
  • Standardize data collection by developing methods for database design and validation reporting.
  • Extract data from databases for reporting and facilitate sharing between multiple data systems.
  • Apply a wide range of analytical techniques related to operations research to examine issues and problems.
  • Perform statistical data collection activities and coordinate ad hoc collection requirements.
  • Design presentation graphics to explain statistical research findings.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of analytical or comparable experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite experience, including TEAMS, Excel, and PowerBI reporting.
  • Ability to manage workload and schedule across multiple processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail for quality control of documents and artifacts.
  • Good communication skills and strong teamwork.
