About the position

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Strategic Operations Research Analyst intern to join a dynamic, high-performing team. This role involves using systematic, science-based techniques and analytical methods to inform and improve decision-making processes across various Lockheed Martin products and programs. The intern will engage in impactful studies that quantify the effects of military systems on mission effectiveness, providing a unique opportunity for professional development and collaboration with engineers in different disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Participating in analysis and study plans based on critical questions/problem statements
• Utilizing engineering-based techniques, problem-solving methods, and critical thinking
• Researching and learning military systems, military operations, and military tactics
• Conducting Simulation, Modeling and Analysis (MS&A) of military systems and scenarios in digital environments
• Analyzing simulation results using data analytics to help draw meaningful conclusions
• Participating in trade studies and performing statistical analysis
• Engaging in research efforts and learning analytical techniques with research methodologies
• Applying decision analysis methods to evaluate current and future programs

Requirements

• Eligible for a DoD secret clearance
• Scripting and data processing experience (MATLAB, Python, or similar)
• Problem solving skills with an eagerness to learn
• Currently enrolled in a STEM degree from an accredited college/university

• Active DoD secret clearance
• Classroom or work experience with computer-based analytical tools, modeling, simulation, or software development experience
