About the position

Apogee is actively seeking a full-time Operations Research Analyst to support the US Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) NC3 Enterprise Center (NEC) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I). This role is based at Ft Meade, MD, and is integral to the mission of enhancing the capabilities of the NC3 system of systems. The Operations Research Analyst will perform statistical analysis and data analytics to guide decisions focused on the end-to-end mission, identifying new or enhanced capabilities and assessing the impacts of performance levels on the NC3 systems. In this position, the analyst will assist in documenting the actions of various studies, recommending and coordinating with study participants, setting up and facilitating meetings, and defining timelines and deliverables. The role also involves producing engineering analysis reports informed by mathematical modeling, which will recommend process improvements or efficiencies to address documented gaps within the NC3 framework. Additionally, the analyst will support limited scope technical quick reaction analyses, providing timely insights into NC3/National Leadership Command Capability (NLCC) systems issues. The Operations Research Analyst will advise and assist the Government in defining NC3 Enterprise Figures of Merit (FOM) targets for model-based systems engineering and Mission Engineering (ME) studies. This includes supporting the development of Measures of Effectiveness & Performance (MOE and MOPs), as well as other relevant performance criteria aimed at measurement at the System of Systems level. This position is crucial for ensuring that the NC3 systems are optimized for performance and efficiency, ultimately contributing to the success of the mission.

Responsibilities

• Perform statistical analysis and data analytics in support of mission engineering studies.
• Document the actions of studies and recommend study participants.
• Set up and facilitate meetings, defining timelines and deliverables.
• Produce engineering analysis reports informed by mathematical modeling.
• Recommend process improvements or efficiencies for solving documented NC3 gaps.
• Support limited scope technical quick reaction analysis of NC3/NLCC systems issues.

• Support the development of Measures of Effectiveness & Performance (MOE and MOPs).

Requirements

• Must be a US citizen.
• Must have and be able to maintain a TS w/SCI eligibility.
• High School Diploma required.
• 11+ years of relevant experience including 5+ years in optimization, data mining, statistical analysis, and/or mathematical modeling.
• 2+ years' experience using Tableau or similar data visualization and analytics tools.
• Ability to work well within a team and execute tasks independently.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong command of MS Office suite tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical field.
• 5+ years' relevant experience in optimization, data mining, statistical analysis, and/or mathematical modeling.
• NC3 experience is desired.
