About the position

The SMX GOST Cell is seeking a Journeyman Operations Research Analyst to join our team in providing cutting-edge analytics in support of the Global Combatant Commands. This role is critical in conducting advanced unclassified data research and analysis specifically aimed at supporting the Department of Defense's Counter-Narcotics (CN) and Counter-Transnational Organized Crime (CTOC) efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, gathering, analyzing, and evaluating open-source and commercially available data, products, and services. This position requires a DoD Top Secret eligibility security clearance, which necessitates U.S. citizenship for work on DoD contracts. In this role, the analyst will conduct both quantitative and qualitative analyses to integrate and evaluate data, solve complex problems, and effectively communicate results to senior leaders and decision-makers. The analyst will study, evaluate, and report on all-source data, including spatial and temporal data, and utilize available industry data, including market data available for purchase, independent reports, and other data provided by the requested agency, to identify threat networks and nodes. The position also involves fusing multidiscipline sources to provide accurate and timely network and geospatial analysis, as well as providing analysis and assessments of commercially available and open-source data to deliver actionable information products. The analyst will apply their expertise in operational support to identify information gaps and perform qualitative and quantitative analysis to enhance the client mission. Additionally, the role requires creating customized and dynamic data solutions based on specified requirements, ensuring that the deliverables meet the high standards expected by the government customer.

Responsibilities

  • Support the identification, gathering, analysis, and evaluation of open-source and commercially available data, products, and services.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to integrate and evaluate data, solve problems, and effectively communicate results to senior leaders and decision makers.
  • Study, evaluate, and report on all-source data, including spatial and temporal data.
  • Utilize available industry data, including market data available for purchase, independent reports, and other data provided by the requested agency, to identify threat networks and nodes.
  • Fuse multidiscipline sources to provide accurate and timely network and geospatial analysis.
  • Provide analysis and assessments of commercially available and open-source data to deliver actionable information products.
  • Apply expertise in operational support to identify information gaps and perform qualitative and quantitative analysis to enhance the client mission.

Requirements

  • Top Secret eligibility security clearance required.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a team environment in researching multi-faceted problem sets in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently in performing research, data fusion, and analysis of multi-discipline datasets.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation, including the collection, synthesis, and visualization of content intended for complex deliverables in a variety of formats.
  • Knowledge of internet-based research, including Boolean logic, search engine and database resources, and internet sources, including social media, social networking tools, data exploitation, and commercial- and industry-based databases.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, creative innovation, technical knowledge, and tradecraft standards to deliver analytic findings in textual form, graphic annotation, or other formats as directed by the government customer, and develop and present briefings to support customer requirements.
  • Proficiency in geospatial analysis, including advanced analytic functions and the creation of publishable cartographic material.
  • Experience utilizing commercially available analytic toolsets, including but not limited to: Analyst's Notebook, ArcMap/ArcPro, Tableau, or other relevant custom solutions.
  • 3-5 years relevant experience.

  • Knowledge of the targeting cycle.
  • Knowledge of other intelligence disciplines, including signals intelligence (SIGINT), human intelligence (HUMINT), Measurement and Signature Intelligence (MASINT), imagery intelligence (IMINT), and Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT).
  • Experience with publicly available information (PAI) analytic principles.
  • Familiarity with commercial datasets commonly used in support of Law Enforcement and Department of Defense information and analytic operations.
  • Experience with cyber analytics.
