About the position

As an Operations Research Analyst, Lead, you will play a crucial role in addressing complex operational challenges for our clients. Your passion for exploring the root causes of issues will drive your analysis, reporting, and development of creative solutions. You will be part of our modeling and simulation team, where you will lead the evaluation of various data assessment strategies, including sampling, statistical analysis, time series forecasting, and flow processing. Your expertise will be essential in delivering effective solutions that meet our clients' needs. In this position, you will guide a team in conducting thorough research, preparing visual data representations such as graphs and charts, and analyzing programmatic or cost data. This includes data sampling, latency models, and what-if analyses. You will oversee the documentation of findings and the development of briefings to present results to stakeholders. Collaboration will be key as you hold various program meetings aimed at improving program efficiency. Your high-level operations research expertise will be utilized to develop innovative technologies and concepts that advance modeling and simulation for the Department of Defense (DoD). You will employ mathematical and statistical methods, operational mathematics techniques such as linear programming, and simulation principles to devise effective modeling and measuring techniques. This role is not just about analysis; it’s about leading a team to implement solutions that make a real difference in operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the evaluation of data assessment strategies such as sampling, statistical analysis, time series forecasting, and flow processing.
  • Guide a team in conducting research and preparing visual data representations like graphs and charts.
  • Analyze and interpret programmatic or cost data, including data sampling and latency models.
  • Oversee the development of briefings to present results to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and hold program meetings to improve program efficiency.
  • Utilize mathematical and statistical methods to devise modeling and measuring techniques.
  • Develop technologies and concepts that advance modeling and simulation for the DoD.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in conducting analyses of management and operational problems using Operations Research techniques.
  • 4+ years of experience in the application of modeling and simulation to Decision Analysis problems.
  • 4+ years of experience in the application of modeling and simulation to Cost and Benefit Analysis problems.
  • 4+ years of experience with PANDAS, R, EXCEL/VBA, ARENA, OCTAVE, Tableau, Gurobi/CPLEX, EXTENDSIM, SAS, NETICA, stats models, Stata, MATLAB, or SPSS.
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or Management Science.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with performing validation and testing of models to ensure adequacy or determine the need for reformulation.
  • Experience with leading technical tasks and teams.
  • Experience with Riverbed NetPlanner.
  • Ability to work in Windows and Linux OS environments.
  • Master's degree.
