About the position

Axient is seeking an Operations Research Analyst Level III to join our Capability Development Analytics team at the Headquarters of the United States Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategy, Integration and Requirements in Washington DC. This position is critical in providing analytic decision support to senior Air Force leaders, focusing on strategy development, operational concept development, and operational challenge studies. The role involves conducting operational/regional politico-military analysis, developing capability assessments, and supporting war and mobility planning. The analyst will also be involved in requirements development, conducting net assessments, and providing decision support for the planning and programming processes that shape the future of the Air Force. The responsibilities include reviewing assigned concepts, capabilities, solutions, or designs, determining the assumptions and constraints involved, and recommending prioritization for testing these assumptions. The analyst will formulate a value hypothesis to advance, adjust, or eliminate concepts and plan early technical solutions and requirements. This includes determining the modeling and simulation tools best suited to support the evaluation of the concepts being analyzed. Coordination across the Air Force analytic community is essential to identify best practices and ensure a holistic solution is recommended. In addition, the Operations Research Analyst will apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision-making and policy formulation. The role also involves collecting and analyzing data to develop decision support software, services, or products, and developing optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for program evaluation, review, or implementation.
