About the position

Axient is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Operations Research Analyst Level III to join our team at the Headquarters of the United States Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategy, Integration and Requirements in Washington DC. This position is critical as the Headquarters is responsible for providing analytic decision support to senior Air Force leaders, which includes strategy development, operational concept development, and conducting operational/regional politico-military analysis. The role involves developing capability assessments, supporting war and mobility planning, and requirements development, as well as conducting net assessments and providing decision support for the future planning and programming of the Air Force. The Decision Analytics Teams at Axient systematically utilize both quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques to discover, interpret, and communicate objective insights derived from data. The primary goal is to provide meaningful data to senior leaders and concept developers, enabling them to make more informed decisions. As an Operations Research Analyst, you will be tasked with formulating and applying mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision-making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions. In this role, you will collect and analyze data, develop decision support software, services, or products, and create optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for program evaluation, review, or implementation. Your contributions will be vital in supporting the strategic planning and programming processes of the Air Force, ensuring that the organization is well-equipped to meet future challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and optimizing methods to assist management with decision making.

  • Develop optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for program evaluation, review, or implementation.

Requirements

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in operations research or a technical field.
  • Bachelor's degree in operations research, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
  • TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility.
