QinetiQ US's Defense Modernization business unit is seeking a Mid Operational Research Analyst who will provide comprehensive and advanced analytical support to AFIMSC (Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center) in San Antonio, TX. This role focuses on complex data analytics, tool development, wargaming support, and base resiliency analysis. The analyst will manage and analyze data, enhance automation and efficiencies, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Administrative support tasks such as meeting coordination and report writing are also part of the role. In this position, the analyst will provide advanced analytical support to AFIMSC senior decision-makers, developing critical insights across the enterprise. The role involves performing complex tasks such as simulation, optimization, artificial intelligence and machine learning, advanced statistical analysis, regression, data science, decision analysis, performance metric development, risk assessment, scheduling, process improvement, and process automation. The analyst will utilize Data Fabric platforms (Envision, VAULT, Advana, Blade, UDL, etc.) and employ operations research analysis using COTs simulation software, SAS, Tableau, Microsoft Power Platform, open-source coding (Python, R, etc.), and existing tools developed with Visual Basic for tool development and analysis. Additionally, the analyst will support wargaming events such as Futures Game (FG), Long Duration Logistics Wargame (LDLW), Global Engagement (GE), etc., including advanced modeling and simulation analysis. The role also includes obtaining necessary data from public domains if not provided by the government and managing government-furnished data, reports, and database access. Enhancing automation, error detection and reduction, data storage and access techniques, and data visualization for reporting are key responsibilities. The analyst will support current metrics using existing automated processes for collecting, compiling, analyzing, distributing, and reporting data, while also identifying and creating additional metrics and tools to support leadership requirements. Furthermore, the role involves supporting the implementation of discrete-event simulation using existing models or COTs software to model base processes such as runway repair, identifying scenarios and metrics to be simulated and analyzed, and integrating simulation models with government-owned models to determine airbase capabilities over time. The analyst will also support implementing automation into processes that are manually intensive or where efficiencies can be made, developing apps and automated flows using the MS Power Platform suite and other data fabric platforms to eliminate or reduce manual tasks. Administrative support tasks include capturing meeting minutes, scheduling meetings, assisting with RFIs, report writing, bullet papers, and other project management-related activities.
