About the position

The position involves supporting the Model-based Mission Engineering (MBME) initiative, which is a strategic approach aimed at transforming digital engineering practices within the Department of Defense (DoD). This initiative is aligned with the DoD Digital Engineering Strategy and focuses on utilizing digital Mission Thread (MT) and Mission Engineering Thread (MET) models. These models are essential for providing a comprehensive mission context that aids in concept exploration, capability development, and the entire systems engineering and acquisitions life cycle. The role requires a deep understanding of operations research and technical methodologies to effectively contribute to this transformation. In this capacity, the individual will be responsible for analyzing various components of the interface(s) associated with the MBME initiative. This includes engaging with users to gather feedback and insights, which are crucial for refining the models and ensuring they meet operational needs. The position demands a high level of technical expertise and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders to facilitate the successful implementation of the MBME framework. The candidate will also be expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and enhance the overall effectiveness of mission engineering practices.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in mathematics, operations research, or a technical field.
  • A Master's degree and/or PhD is preferred.
  • Seven (7) years of experience in operations research or a technical field.
  • TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
