About the position

The Senior Operations Research Analyst at QinetiQ US will provide advanced analytical support to the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center (AFIMSC) in San Antonio, TX. This role focuses on complex data analytics, tool development, wargaming support, and base resiliency analysis. The analyst will lead data management efforts, enhance automation, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations while also performing administrative tasks such as meeting coordination and report writing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the provision of advanced analytical support to AFIMSC senior decision-makers, developing critical insights and strategic recommendations across the enterprise.
  • Perform high-level tasks such as simulation, optimization, artificial intelligence and machine learning, advanced statistical analysis, regression, data science, decision analysis, performance metric development, risk assessment, scheduling, process improvement, and process automation.
  • Oversee the use of Data Fabric platforms and employ operations research analysis using COTs simulation software, SAS, Tableau, Microsoft Power Platform, open-source coding (Python, R, etc.), and existing tools developed with Visual Basic.
  • Lead support for wargaming events including advanced modeling and simulation analysis.
  • Direct the collection and analysis of necessary data from public domains and manage government-furnished data, reports, and database access.
  • Lead efforts to enhance automation, error detection and reduction, data storage and access techniques, and data visualization for reporting.
  • Continue to support and enhance current metrics using existing automated processes for collecting, compiling, analyzing, distributing, and reporting data.
  • Lead the development of new automated processes for collecting, compiling, analyzing, distributing, and reporting financial services metrics.
  • Lead the implementation of discrete-event simulation using existing models or COTs software to model base processes such as runway repair.
  • Identify and develop optimization models for processes to gain cost savings, time savings, or other relevant objectives.

Requirements

  • Degree in Operations Research or Industrial Engineering, or at least 24 semester hours in operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, or related subjects requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics.
  • At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
  • PhD with 3-5 years of experience or a Master's degree with 10-12 years of experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to obtain or already possess a SECRET security clearance, based on an investigation completed within the past 5 years.
  • Experience supporting AFIMSC or adjacent/subordinate organizations.
  • Experience with Data Fabric platforms such as Envision, VAULT, Advana, Blade, UDL, etc.
  • Proficiency in COTs simulation software, SAS, Tableau, Microsoft Power Platform, open-source coding (Python, R, etc.), and existing tools developed with Visual Basic.
  • Familiarity with wargaming events like Futures Game (FG), Long Duration Logistics Wargame (LDLW), Global Engagement (GE), etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in data analytics and tool development within a government contracting environment.
