About the position

LMI is seeking a skilled Operations Research Analyst with experience in the Space Protection mission area. This role involves developing and implementing analytical pipelines using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to support national defense initiatives. The analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders to create data models that enhance the understanding and representation of warfighting information across multiple domains.

Responsibilities

  • Develop MBSE Systems Modeling Language (SysML) data models to drive Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) and facilitate collaboration with government and industry organizations.
  • Collaborate with software architects, senior developers, senior operations analysts, data scientists, and leadership to design interactions of MBSE data models with critical software components.
  • Engage with National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) System Program Office (SPO) customers to understand their analysis needs and translate them into work products.
  • Conduct research on technical development aspects to ensure data model accuracy.
  • Demonstrate analytical products to customers.
  • Participate in Agile analytical sprint processes and ceremonies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of professional experience or a master's degree in a STEM field with 3+ years of professional experience.
  • Space domain experience and understanding of Space Protection mission area, including Indications and Warning sensors and Defense of space-based systems.
  • Relevant joint space warfighting experience in an operational, science and technology, or operational test organization.
  • Exposure to modeling, simulation, and analysis tools.
  • Proven track record of engaging with customers and coworkers to create innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph required.
  • US Citizenship required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cameo Systems Modeler (or similar) MBSE authoring software and SysML experience.
  • Experience using both Scrum and Kanban.
  • National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) experience.
