About the position

The Operations Research Analyst position at 4S-Silversword Software and Services LLC involves collecting and compiling data, analytics, and reporting to meet client requirements. The role requires collaboration with project managers, engineers, developers, and clients to ensure that systems and documents are developed in accordance with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The analyst will leverage their experience to develop Requirements Traceability Matrices, User Guides, System Administration Manuals, and other essential documentation. In this role, the analyst will gather requirements, create user stories, and develop test cases to ensure that systems and documents align with established SDLC and UAT protocols. They will compile information into reports to support meetings and provide updates to clients. Participation in meetings with project stakeholders is crucial, which includes preparing read-ahead materials, presentations, and utilizing video/web/teleconferencing tools. The analyst will also be responsible for knowledge management of documents and artifacts, ensuring quality control of project management documents, and applying mathematical or modeling techniques to assist management in decision-making and policy formulation. Additionally, the analyst will identify issues and risks, propose mitigation strategies, and support the preparation and evaluation of technical documents, studies, analyses, and briefings for daily operational reporting. They will conduct detailed analyses of project and program management activities and design presentation graphics to communicate statistical research findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. The role may also involve statistical data collection activities, including preparing and coordinating ad hoc and standing collection requirements, along with other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements, create user stories and test cases to ensure systems/documents are developed according to SDLC and UAT.
  • Collaborate with program managers, engineers, developers, and clients to ensure systems and documents are developed according to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Compile information into reports to support meetings and updates to clients.
  • Participate in meetings with project stakeholders by completing read-ahead and presentations, and video/web/teleconferencing.
  • Manage knowledge of documents and artifacts.
  • Ensure quality control of project management documents and artifacts.
  • Formulate and apply mathematical or other modeling methods to assist management with decision making and policy formulation.
  • Identify issues and risks, including mitigation or resolution strategies.
  • Provide support in the preparation and evaluation of technical documents, papers, studies, analysis, and briefings in support of daily operational reporting.
  • Prepare and execute detailed analyses of project and program management activities.
  • Design presentation graphics and other tools to explain statistical research findings to other professionals and non-technical audiences.
  • Perform statistical data collection requirement activities, such as preparing, processing, and coordinating ad hoc and standing collection requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience with 1-3 years of analytical or comparable experience.
  • Associate's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in clerical processes; ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite experience.
  • Proficient in the use of query and reporting analysis tools.
  • Experience developing Requirements Traceability Matrices, User Guides, System Administration Manuals, and other documentation.
  • Ability to apply a wide range of analytical techniques related to operations research.
  • Exceptional attention to detail for quality control of documents and artifacts.
  • Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing.
