About the position

As an Operations Research Analyst in the Force Readiness Analytics Group (FRAG) of Commander Naval Air Pacific, you will play a crucial role in coordinating project development and management. Your responsibilities will include justifying project plans, developing schedules, and creating study plans while collaborating with analysts, engineers, commanders, staff representatives, and agency executives. You will analyze complex management problems and provide expert advice on the probable effects of alternative solutions. This position requires you to prioritize work effectively, translate research into actionable project phases, and plan methods of approach while subdividing projects into significant phases. You will also be responsible for collecting and analyzing data, performing statistical analyses—including both descriptive and inferential statistics—identifying and forecasting trends, and creating risk analyses using modeling and simulation techniques. Additionally, you will be tasked with planning and developing theoretical frameworks and methodologies to support your analyses and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • Specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in advising or performing work related to naval readiness solutions and recommendations.
  • Knowledge of statistical software and modeling tools.
