About the position

The Operations Research Analyst position at the Pentagon involves maintaining and evolving the Enterprise Architecture Analytics Project within Army Vantage/ADP 2.0. This role is crucial for supporting the Army's Defense Business System (DBS) Portfolio Management through the OEM analytics methodology and tool known as the Integrated Diagnostic. The analyst will be responsible for supporting decision-makers and stakeholders in optimizing business resources, increasing efficiencies, and identifying opportunities for cost avoidance. This will require leveraging enterprise data and analytic tools, including Army Vantage/ADP 2.0, OSD Advana, Tableau, Python, R, and SQL. The position is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation, which allows for the recruitment and appointment of qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, Nationals, or individuals who owe allegiance to the U.S. The role may involve a trial or probationary period and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. The position may also require travel up to 10%. To qualify, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in operations research or a related field with substantial coursework in mathematics and statistics. Additionally, candidates must have specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, which includes planning and conducting research and analytical studies, utilizing professional knowledge for data analytics, and analyzing complex data systems. Transcripts are required to verify educational qualifications. This position is temporary and may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment, or change to a lower grade, not to exceed 13 months, with the possibility of extension up to five years. The salary range for this position is between $139,395.00 and $181,216.00, depending on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and evolve the Enterprise Architecture Analytics Project in Army Vantage/ADP 2.0.
  • Maintain and evolve the OEM analytics methodology and tool (the Integrated Diagnostic) in support of Army Defense Business System (DBS) Portfolio Management.
  • Support decision maker and stakeholder decisions to optimize business resources, increase efficiencies, and identify cost avoidance opportunities.
  • Leverage enterprise data and analytic tools including Army Vantage/ADP 2.0, OSD Advana, Tableau, Python, R, SQL.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in operations research or a related field with at least 24 semester hours in operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, or related subjects.
  • At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, including planning and conducting research and analytical studies, utilizing professional knowledge for data analytics, and analyzing complex data systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with statistical data analytics projects and studies.
  • Familiarity with the Army Defense Business System (DBS) Portfolio Management.
