About the position

The Operations Research Analyst will serve in the Force Readiness Analytics Group (FRAG) of Commander Naval Air Pacific, focusing on enhancing cost and supply management efforts within the organization. This role involves conducting comprehensive cost analyses, developing cost optimization strategies, and overseeing the cost analytics team to align with departmental goals. The analyst will also be responsible for presenting detailed reports and conducting research to inform policy recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Advance the organization's cost and supply management efforts to enhance efficiency.
  • Conduct comprehensive cost analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop and implement cost optimization strategies and initiatives.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the cost analytics team, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and priorities.
  • Develop and present detailed reports, charts, tables, and presentations to summarize research findings and support strategic decisions across the Naval Aviation Enterprise.
  • Develop new procedures, techniques, or theoretical frameworks to provide rigorous scientific bases for conclusions.
  • Conduct research, trend analysis, and statistical reporting to inform and shape policy recommendations.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in federal service or equivalent experience in the private, public, or education sector as a Professional Operations Researcher or Artificial Intelligence subject-matter expert.
  • Bachelor's degree in operations research or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics.

  • Experience in operational effectiveness, procurement adjustments, and technological enhancements to improve financial performance impacting Naval operations.
