About the position

As an Operations Research Analyst for the Department of Defense, you will play a critical role in developing and reviewing mathematical models, results, and documentation to ensure that high-quality, complete, and timely products are delivered to both internal and external stakeholders for assigned programs and projects. Your work will involve utilizing a variety of analytical tools, including Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tools (ACEIT), to perform complex analyses that inform decision-making processes. You will apply various statistical and mathematical techniques to convert raw data into actionable insights, advising technical, financial, and program/project managers on how to tackle intricate problems effectively. In this position, you will be responsible for analyzing options and conducting cost estimating and analysis for programs and projects, ensuring that they reflect any changes in requirements or economic conditions. You will also be tasked with developing and presenting detailed reports and briefs that convey your findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders. Additionally, you will plan and execute procedures for the requesting, reviewing, acceptance, storage, retrieval, updating, and dissemination of cost, programmatic, and technical data, ensuring that all processes are efficient and compliant with established standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review mathematical models, results, and documentation for assigned programs/projects.
  • Utilize analytical tools, including ACEIT, to perform complex analyses.
  • Apply statistical and mathematical techniques to convert data into analytical results.
  • Advise technical, financial, and program/project managers on solving complex problems.
  • Analyze options and perform cost estimating and analysis for programs/projects.
  • Develop and present detailed reports and briefs to management and stakeholders.
  • Plan and execute procedures for managing cost, programmatic, and technical data.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Must complete training and maintain a government credit card for travel-related purchases.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area is required within established timeframes.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required.

Nice-to-haves
