About the position

The Operations Research Analyst position at the Office of the Chief of Staff of the Army involves supporting the Headquarters Department of Army's Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) within the Directorate of Prevention, Resilience, and Readiness (DPRR). The role focuses on developing complex computer simulations related to military family readiness and conducting analyses to solve unique problems creatively. The analyst will also maintain communication with peers in similar roles and present findings to high-level officials.

Responsibilities

  • Develop complex computer simulations of military family readiness.
  • Perform a broad range of analyses solving unique problems with creativity and innovative techniques on the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP).
  • Maintain liaison with analysts engaged in similar activities for mutual exchange of ideas and information.
  • Provide briefs to high-level officials on progress and conclusions of analyses or studies.

Requirements

  • Degree in operations research or at least 24 semester hours in operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or related subjects requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics, including at least 3 hours in calculus.
  • At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 level, including assisting with model development and/or modification, conducting studies using existing models, and querying databases for model development.
