About the position

The Operations Research Analyst at ITA International is responsible for analyzing management and operational problems, formulating mathematical or simulation models, and providing data-driven solutions. This role involves defining data requirements, gathering and validating information, and applying statistical tests to ensure the adequacy of models. The analyst will also prepare reports, assist in evaluating implementation effectiveness, and conduct technical training sessions for client personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze management and operational problems and formulate mathematical or simulation models for solutions.
  • Define data requirements and gather/validate information.
  • Apply judgment and statistical tests to ensure model adequacy.
  • Perform verification and testing of models and determine the need for reformulation.
  • Prepare reports defining problems, evaluations, and possible solutions.
  • Assist in evaluating implementation and effectiveness of research.
  • Design, conduct, and evaluate operational models with limited data.
  • Develop technical trainings to enhance client personnel skills.
  • Conduct data elicitation sessions and project scoping meetings.
  • Prepare summary briefings on project problem statements, modeling approaches, and proposed solutions.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI security clearance is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or Management Science with 10 years of experience; or
  • Master's degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or Management Science with 8 years of experience; or
  • Doctorate degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or Management Science with 6 years of experience.
  • Experience in conducting analyses of management and operational problems using Operations Research techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least 4 years' experience in the application of M&S to Decision Analysis problems.
  • At least 4 years' experience in the application of M&S to Cost/Benefit Analysis problems.
  • Experience using R, Python, EXCEL/VBA, ARENA, OCTAVE, Tableau, Gurobi/CPLEX, EXTEND SIM, SAS, NETICA, statsmodels, Stata, MATLAB, SPSS.
  • Experience leading a project team of 2 or more people.
  • Experience in gathering data for models, developing modeling prototypes, and preparing evaluation reports.
