About the position

The Operations Research Analyst at Naval Medical Forces Pacific (NMFP) is responsible for monitoring and improving the analysis and evaluation of data related to operational readiness within Navy Medicine. This role involves providing cross-functional support, planning major studies, executing projects, and serving as a consultant to senior leadership. The analyst will utilize various databases and systems to validate submissions and provide technical guidance on policies and procedures related to healthcare delivery efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and improve the analysis and evaluation of available data at NMFP.
  • Provide cross-functional support for the assessment of operational readiness of Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Commands.
  • Plan major studies and execute projects representing significant organizational efforts.
  • Serve as a consultant or technical advisor to general officers and senior executives.
  • Utilize databases associated with Navy and Marine Corps readiness systems and MHS clinic information systems.
  • Review and validate Business Case Analysis and Capability Based Assessment submissions.
  • Provide guidance to NMFP leadership on the accuracy of submissions and feasibility of requests.
  • Evaluate and provide technical guidance on current policies and procedures concerning cost effectiveness and healthcare delivery efficiency.

Requirements

  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level.
  • Experience utilizing operations research and data analysis using visualization and programming tools.
  • Experience applying advanced actuarial science, operations research, or mathematics.
  • Experience using quantitative techniques to solve complex healthcare delivery issues.
  • Experience designing studies and applying analytic techniques in the healthcare sector.
  • Experience performing modeling analyses to discover relationships in healthcare delivery environments.
  • Knowledge of military operational planning concepts and healthcare terminology.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with military healthcare systems and processes.
