About the position

The Operations Research Analyst position at Oiwi Kane in Falls Church, VA, is a full-time role that requires a dedicated individual to collect and compile data, analytics, and reporting to meet client requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, developers, and clients to ensure that systems and documents are developed in accordance with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) protocols. This role is critical in developing Requirements Traceability Matrices, User Guides, System Administration Manuals, and other essential documentation that supports project objectives. In this position, the analyst will gather requirements, create user stories, and develop test cases to ensure that all systems and documents align with established standards. The role involves compiling information into reports that support meetings and updates for clients, as well as participating in stakeholder meetings, which may include preparing read-ahead materials and presentations. Knowledge management of documents and artifacts is also a key responsibility, along with quality control of project management documents. The analyst will utilize mathematical modeling and optimization methods to assist management in decision-making and policy formulation. Identifying issues and risks, along with proposing mitigation strategies, is essential. The role also includes preparing and evaluating technical documents, conducting detailed analyses of project and program management activities, and designing presentation graphics to communicate statistical research findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. The analyst will also be responsible for statistical data collection activities, ensuring that all requirements are met efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements, create user stories and test cases to ensure systems/documents are developed according to SDLC and UAT.
  • Collaborate with program managers, engineers, developers, and clients to ensure systems and documents are developed according to SDLC and UAT.
  • Compile information into reports to support meetings and updates to clients.
  • Participate in meetings with project stakeholders by completing read-ahead and presentations, and video/web/teleconferencing.
  • Manage knowledge of documents and artifacts.
  • Conduct quality control of project management documents and artifacts.
  • Formulate and apply mathematical or other modeling and optimizing methods to assist management with decision making.
  • Identify issues and risks, including mitigation or resolution strategies.
  • Support the preparation and evaluation of technical documents, papers, studies, analysis, and briefings.
  • Prepare and execute detailed analyses of project and program management activities.
  • Design presentation graphics and other tools to explain statistical research findings to other professionals and non-technical audiences.
  • Perform statistical data collection requirement activities, such as preparing, processing, and coordinating ad hoc and standing collection requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience with 1-3 years of analytical or comparable experience.
  • Associate's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in clerical processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite experience.
  • Proficient in the use of query and reporting analysis tools.
  • Experience developing Requirements Traceability Matrices, User Guides, System Administration Manuals, and other documentation.
  • Ability to apply a wide range of analytical techniques related to operations research.
  • Exceptional attention to detail for quality control of documents and artifacts.
  • Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing.
