About the position

The Operations Research Analyst position at the U.S. Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff involves providing expert analysis to support the design of a globally integrated joint force. The role focuses on researching emerging technologies, assessing their impact on future warfare, and writing reports that inform strategic planning within the Joint Force. Analysts will develop briefings and other products to facilitate a common understanding of the future operating environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert analysis on the future operating environment to support the design of a globally integrated joint force.
  • Research emerging technologies and assess their impact on future warfare or new capabilities.
  • Examine changes in the international system and their effects on the Joint Force.
  • Write reports and analyses for the Joint Staff J7 to publish updated editions of the Joint Operating Environment (JOE).
  • Develop briefings and information papers to facilitate understanding of the future operating environment.
  • Represent the Joint Staff in staffing documents or meetings related to the Joint Strategic Planning System.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must obtain/maintain a Special Sensitive (Top Secret/SCI) security clearance.
  • Educational requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
  • Degree in Operations Research or at least 24 semester hours in relevant quantitative analysis courses.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in analysis skills.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
