About the position

This internship position at Intel focuses on developing and optimizing manufacturing processes through engineering and software solutions. Interns will engage in hands-on experiences that apply their STEM education to real-world challenges, contributing to the design and efficiency of factory operations. The role emphasizes collaboration across various engineering disciplines and aims to enhance manufacturing performance while fostering skills in problem-solving and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop system-wide software solutions for complex manufacturing problems.
  • Identify and solve complex issues related to factory performance and equipment.
  • Develop software applications based on engineering models to drive solutions.
  • Build and validate decision algorithms and optimization models.
  • Collaborate with business units to identify root causes and define needs for software solutions.
  • Utilize technical training and engineering judgment to develop solutions.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or Operations Research.
  • 6+ months of experience in software development and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in database programming such as SQL.

Nice-to-haves

  • Programming and debugging experience.
  • Experience with Oracle database programming.
  • Applied statistics experience.
  • Knowledge of discrete event simulation modeling languages.
  • Skills in formulating Linear and Integer Optimization problems.
