About the position

The Operations Research Systems Analyst (ORSA) at Global Dimensions LLC plays a critical role in supporting USSOCOM by applying mathematical modeling and optimization methods to enhance decision-making, policy formulation, and strategic planning. This position involves conducting structured analysis and providing evidence-based recommendations to senior leaders, ensuring effective operational planning and resource allocation.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and optimization methods to assist management with decision making and policy formulation.
  • Collect and analyze data to develop decision support software and products.
  • Support Operational Planning Teams (OPTs) and Crisis Action Teams (CATs) as needed.
  • Provide ORSA expertise in the development of USSOCOM strategic documents.
  • Conduct ORSA projects using various methods and tools in support of joint planning and contingency operations.
  • Execute high-visibility ORSA projects of major importance to national security.
  • Apply operation research methods to identify and solve real-world problems for USSOCOM.
  • Use statistical analysis and modeling to develop practical solutions.
  • Perform analysis of program/project performance and design experiments.
  • Develop analytical approaches for complex problems with limited guidelines.
  • Design and advocate for new analytic capabilities and technical improvements.
  • Communicate and prepare presentations for senior leaders.
  • Analyze USSOCOM strategic documents alignment with national-level guidance.
  • Research and analyze DOD policies and strategies related to USSOCOM missions.
  • Develop assessment plans for USSOCOM campaign plans and posture plans.
  • Provide analysis for strategic planning meetings and briefings.
  • Conduct executive-level studies and assessments to synchronize command strategic documents.
  • Maintain methodology for implementing DOD and USSOCOM advancing analytics.
  • Prepare assessment products for Joint Planning Boards and senior leadership.
  • Collaborate across USSOCOM on studies and research.

Requirements

  • MA/MS in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Applied Statistics, Operations Research, or Systems Analysis; or military education equivalent to CGSC or higher.
  • MS degree or higher in Operations Research with 10-15+ years of ORSA experience.
  • Active TOP SECRET clearance, eligible for SCI.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years in Special Operations Forces (SOF) or related fields such as PSYOP, MILDEC, CWMD, CYBER, AT/FP, SNA, Special Programs, Interagency Experience, Intelligence, CCMD.
